Hi, friend! I'm Whitney.
Writer, wife, mom of four, and the voice behind Happily Ever at Home. After years in the corporate world and walking through some of life’s hardest seasons, I came home ready for a slower, simpler life. But I quickly learned that “slower” doesn’t automatically mean easier. Between the constant chaos, endless decisions, and never-ending to-do list, I realized that for me, peace at home starts with structure.
So I began treating home life the way I used to approach work: by creating systems, routines, and tools that keep things running smoothly (most days, at least). Think: less decision fatigue, fewer piles, and more energy for what actually matters.
Around here, I share simple, sustainable ways to organize the everyday—so you can spend less time managing the chaos and more time actually enjoying your home and your people.
When I put simple systems in place, everything feels easier.
And less stress means more time for what matters.
Me, in a Nutshell
No one loves relying on tests and frameworks to describe a person more than me, as evidenced by the many, many I’ve taken over the years. So please enjoy making many (probably correct) assumptions about me as you read:
- Generally speaking Type A, overachieving, recovering perfectionist and people pleaser
- Jungian archetypes: Wise Old Man and Caregiver
- Love language: acts of service
- Meyers Briggs, "The advocate” (INJF-T)
- Enneagram Type 6, The Loyalist
- Kolbe A index: Follow Through and Fact Finder
- Via Character Strengths Survey: Prudence, Kindness, Fairness, Humility, Perspective
- HIGH5 Strengths Test: Time Keeper, Empathizer, Focus Expert, Thinker, Deliverer
- Clifton Strengths top 5: Discipline, Harmony, Restorative, Empathy, Deliberative
- The Fascinate Test: Primary advantage is Trust, secondary advantage is Mystique, archetype the Anchor
- The LORD in Wealth Dynamics
- Manifesting Generator

On HapPiness
“It’s rebellious, in a way, to choose joy, to dance, to love your life. It’s much easier and much more common to be miserable. We could just live our normal, day-to-day lives, saving all the good living up for someday, but I think it’s our job to live each day like it’s a special occasion, because we’ve been given a gift.”
“The truth? You, and only you, are ultimately responsible for who you become and how happy you are. That’s the takeaway.”
“Normal, daily life ticking by on our streets and sidewalks, in our houses and apartments, in our beds and at our dinner tables, in our dreams and prayers and fights and secrets – this pedestrian life is the most precious thing any of us will ever experience.”
“You must choose to be happy, grateful, and fulfilled. If you make that choice every single day, regardless of where you are or what’s happening, you will be happy.”
